Saona Island

Leaving Saona Island we head back north to the mainland again.

Just off the southern part of the mainland there is a natural pool a short hop off the coastline called La Palmilla.

There are many boats anchored in the water and people playing and snorkelling. it's one of the main attractions of sailing to Saona Island—many tourist boats do not even venture to Mano Juan, they just stop to let tourists play in the tourquoise shallow water.

We found many starfish in the water, but most tourists are not told to leave them in the water. they are fish and die if they are brought out of their aquatic environment. Shame on you tourists!
